Special Project

Our special project this Spring is to raise $3,500 for children form the Giving Tree Volunteer Operation who wish to take classes in music and dance and/or rent musical instruments. We are hoping to raise an additional $10,000 for this project over the summer of 2006.

The Giving Tree Volunteer Operation

The Giving Tree Volunteer Operation's goal is to assist at-risk families in improving their quality of life. The Giving Tree produces a holiday Christmas Tree event held at 10 different locations in Boulder County. At-risk families' wishes are placed on the tree and are then chosen and fulfilled by other members of the community. Many of these families are low income and single parents and single grandparents! Their requests are for dish soap, toilet paper, parenting tapes, toys, and recently music and dance lessons.

The Giving Tree Volunteer Operation is growing enormously. In 2003 they began by helping 35 families. In 2005 they helped 200 families.

We are looking for individuals, businesses and family foundations to help us create a successful, sustained music program. We need long term sponsorship and a great support network to help this organization grow. Please let us know how you can help.
